1965 The first 4 and 5 H.P. air conditioners for mobile homes.
1966 The first spark ignited gas-fired travel trailer furnace. Company changes name to International Industries.
1967 The company becomes known as International Thermal – preventing confusion with International Industries, a California restaurant chain serving pancakes. The first mobile home furnace without louvers in the cabinet door.
1968 Company sales approach $25 million. The first sealed combustion upflow gas furnace for mobile homes.
1969 Company goes public and company name becomes Intertherm Inc.
  The first RV air conditioner with heat strips. The first wind machine built and used for pilot and main burner analysis under actual wind conditions up to 100 MPH.
1970-71 First sealed combustion residential oil and gas furnaces.
1971 First modular air conditioner system (plug-in components). First flue using balanced draft for stable pilot and most efficient combustion.
1973 First computerized heat lost calculations for mobile homes.
1975 The first balanced air distribution duct system for double-wide mobile homes (using “v” box).
1976 The first economizer, allowing self-contained air conditioners to cool with outside air.
  First self-contained mobile home air conditioners to achieve EER values in the range of 8.
1979 Intertherm builds complete new manufacturing facility in Boonville, Missouri.
1980 Intertherm develops Softheat® as name for hot water heating products.
1984 Intertherm opens a manufacturing facility in south St. Louis, Mo.
1985 Intertherm is acquired in June by a Rhode Island company, Nortek.
1986 Nortek purchases Miller from Lear Siegler (LSI).
1987 Name for Intertherm/Miller combination becomes NORDYNE.
1988 Intertherm and Miller HVAC products hit the site-built residential market.
1989 NORDYNE Online-Remote-Access (NORA) introduced, and distribution can order products electronically.
1991 NORDYNE recognized by Copeland as having the fewest compressor failures in the industry.
1993 Great flood of 1993 impacts Grand Avenue plant, putting it under several feet of water.
1994 Team training for new manufacturing process known as Demand Flow Technology (DFT®) begins.
